Just a quick note this morning, to tell you that I am basically a duck.
A very lovely compliment I often receive is how calm and relaxed I am - in life, in work, and as a mum.
Yes, I believe in not sweating the small stuff and not worrying about things you can't control.
I practice breathing exercises when I feel stressed and anxious, and I always try to put things into perspective.
But don't be fooled...I often find myself running around at 100 miles an hour; chasing a little one, catching up on accounts, business admin, emptying the dishwasher for the millionth time, catching up on laundry, washing hundreds of salon towels, picking up toys, running errands, making calls, replying to emails, planning salon social media posts, cleaning (endlessly. at both the salon and home), placing orders for the salon, giving enough of myself to friends, family and social life. The list goes on.
Honestly, it's so full on but that's the way I like it. I'd be twiddling my thumbs otherwise!

But somehow I manage to accidentally maintain this façade that is regularly commented upon; that I am cool, calm, collected and in control.
And that is why I am like a duck.
Smooth, relaxed and calm on the surface. And paddling like absolute crazy below the surface.
Am I the only one that relates to an animal so closely!? I guess you could call it my spirit animal. But don't worry, I don't quack.
